    Rest in Peace, George Carlin

    As you’re probably aware comedian George Carlin passed away on Sunday, 22 June 2008.

    George may not have been known for travel or photography, but he was – and continues to be – a tremendous influence on my world outlook and writing style.

    Carlin’s Brain Droppings is one of my favorite books.  There is a quote from Brain Droppings that we wanted to use on the front page of Get Out The Map when we were in the original design stages.

    Once we reviewed the layout of the home page, we agreed that the quotes wouldn’t work, but it’s still one of my favorites. It is the most honest travel quote I have ever read:

    “There are only two places in the world.  Here and over there.”

    If you haven't read Brain Droppings, you should.  It's smart, funny, insightful and more than just comedy routines on paper.
